OYENIKE OYEKAN FOUNDATION IN COLLABORATION WITH THE OYO STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH COMMEMORATES WORLD BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY 2025
The Oyenike Oyekan Foundation, in collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Health, commemorated World Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 13, 2025, with a day of cancer education, advocacy, and free screening at the Oyo State Ministry of Health Secretariat.
The event brought together health professionals, community members, invited guests, and representatives of both organisations for an important conversation about breast and prostate cancer, with emphasis on awareness and early detection.
One of the highlights of the event was an engaging session on breast cancer and self-breast examination, where participants were encouraged to understand their bodies, recognize unusual changes, and seek medical attention early. The event also featured free breast and prostate cancer screening, making early detection services more accessible to participants.
The event also celebrated the continued collaboration between the Oyenike Oyekan Foundation and the Oyo State Ministry of Health in advancing cancer awareness and preventive health across Oyo State.
With every awareness session and screening exercise, the Foundation continues to bring cancer education closer to the people and encourage communities to take action early.
